Dr. John Jansen takes a unique and gentle approach to dentistry. For him, dentistry is a unique profession in that it allows for improvement in both the health of our patients, as well as in their confidence. Perfecting a person’s smile helps improve their day to day life, and Dr. John truly loves the opportunity to help and make a difference in the lives of other people. One of the things he relishes is discussing dentistry chairside with our patients, and passing on what he has learned.
A native of the Greenwood area, Dr. John obtained both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology degrees at Purdue University. He then pursued his dream of becoming a dentist, attending Indiana University’s School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2012.
In addition to his formal education, Dr. John actively pursues continuing education offerings. He understands that only by staying up-to-date of the latest technologies and treatment strategies will he be able to offer the most effective, proven dental treatments and options to our patients. Dr. John is a proud member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association and the Indianapolis District Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When Dr. John is not busy perfecting our patients’ smiles, he enjoys his time with his wife, Shannon, daughter, Kerrigan, son, Cormac and their dog, Archie. His hobbies include backpacking, reading, playing video games, grilling, and taking his kids on educational outings to museums and the zoo.
Strongly believing in giving back to the community, Dr. John has participated in the WTHR Health & Fitness Expo by providing more than 100 oral cancer screenings to those who could otherwise not afford it. He is also an Avon Walk for Breast Cancer contributor, and a big part of our Operation Gratitude Candy Buy Back program, where we pay patients for bringing unopened Halloween candy as a way to give back to our armed forces.
